I’ve previously talked about Marriott’s plan to raise cash with its best ever bonus, so today I’ll talk about an interesting promotion on the airlines side; Etihad Airways!

I’ve actually never flown with Etihad Airways before, but an #avgeek flight that has captured the minds of many is the over-the-top Etihad’s Residence, a 3-room home-in-the-sky. This is found on their A380s, and features a butler service, a private shower and a double bed. This is on top of their normal First Class Apartments (if First Class is even normal), and probably the closest one can experience flying privately. You can check out a review done by Business Insider¬†here.

Firstly, Etihad is offering Travel Vouchers at a generous 50% bonus for travellers from 10th-24th June 2020. Essentially, if you buy a $1,000 travel voucher, you will have $1,500 to spend for your next trip with Etihad. This represents a 33% discount on all flights.

I’ve listed some important Terms and Conditions to take note, while you can find the full details here.

Etihad's Travel Voucher (50% Bonus)

- You must be an Etihad Guest member to purchase this deal

- You can only use this voucher from August 1, 2020

- The minimum voucher value is US$250, and the maximum voucher value is US$65,000

- The voucher is valid for two years

- You must call in the contact centre to buy this voucher. You cannot buy it online.

- You will still earn miles for your Etihad flights after using this voucher.

Secondly, Etihad is also offering a limited time, up to 60% bonus on buying Etihad Guest miles. This is the best-ever bonus Etihad has offered, the previous best bonus is 50%.

This miles bonus offer is only valid till 18 June 2020, so do jump on this deal if you are looking to buy some! Etihad Guest Miles are valid for 2 years and currently do not have any extension policies. You can buy the miles here.

Strangely, Etihad Guest’s miles are not best used on Etihad’s First Class Apartments or its Business Studio seats. You can consider the travel voucher to fly Etihad’s premium seats instead. Etihad Guest miles actually attain better value for you when you redeem it on Etihad Guest’s 23 airline partners.

Some great redemption rates include:

  • 44,000 Etihad Guest Miles for Business Class Royal Air Maroc flights starting from 2,000+ miles (you can check out the new flight Casablanca-Beijing at 6,273 miles)

  • 30,000 Etihad Guest Miles for Asiana Business Class flights from Singapore-Seoul (compared to 47,000 miles with SQ Krisflyer)

  • 25,610 Etihad Guest Miles on Czech Airlines Business Class from Prague-Seoul

CONCLUSION

Etihad has offered 2 very compelling offers for travellers around the world, even for economy class travellers, where you can snag a return economy class ticket to Europe at $700. Personally, out of the two, I am more compelled towards the travel voucher offer and am considering buying a travel voucher to complement my 2021/2022 travel plans. Share down below if you plan to go for them!
