Fantastic news! In view of the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, Hilton has announced that they will roll over all 2020 elite qualifying nights till 2021! This move will help all Hilton Honours members to maintain their status beyond 2022.
For example, if I have already stayed 10 nights at Hilton properties this year, these 10 nights will traditionally be counted towards my elite qualification for 2022. Right now, Hilton has extended my Diamond status from 2021 to 31 March 2022. Thus, with this additional development, the 10 nights I have stayed this year will roll over to 2021, helping me have a head start to re-qualify for Diamond status ending in 31 March 2023.
Do note that Hilton only does roll overs for NIGHTS stayed, and not stays. The minimum of nights you need to qualify for Diamond is 60, but the minimum of stays you need to qualify is 30. Needless to stay, 1 stay is definitely better if you have elite re-qualification in mind!
Hilton has been generous with its elite status policies and this is a step in the right direction to encourage members to return to its shores this year. I’m sure we will also see more promotions being pushed out as airlines and hotels attempt to win back consumers amidst the pandemic.
