A touchdown offer from HSBC with Singsaver has launched! If you are a new-to-bank user, you are guaranteed to get either $300 cash or a brand new Dyson Cool AM07 Tower Fan (worth S$499) upon approval, with a minimum spend of S$500!

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of the HSBC Revolution Card. Having received a reset in mid 2020, which saw 4mpd on a wide range of bonus categories on online/ contactless transactions in travel, dining and shopping. Not only that, the annual fee was permanently removed, and cardholders get a free copy of The Entertainer which gets you fantastic food deals.

Thus, this makes the perfect time to pick up a HSBC Card. To put things in perspective, this is 50% more cash than the ongoing $200 cashback offer available to the general public.

If you are after cashback, you can opt for the HSBC Advance or the HSBC Visa Platinum. Existing cardholders will get $60 after their $500 spend.

For the sake of clarification,  HSBC uses the following definition for eligible new participants:

  • He/she does not have an existing HSBC Credit Card account* at the time his/her application for any Eligible HSBC Product under this Promotion is approved, and
  • He/she did not previously have a HSBC Credit Card account that was terminated/closed (whether by the individual or by HSBC) in the last twelve (12) months immediately prior to the commencement of the Application Period; and

  • He/she is not a United States (“U.S.”) Citizen, U.S. Resident, or U.S. Green Cardholder. A person is a “U.S. Resident” if he is present in the U.S. for more than 31 days in the current calendar year and for an average of at least 183 days over the current calendar year and the preceding calendar years.

As mentioned, you have 3 options with regard to the HSBC Card you pick up. The HSBC Revolution’s my definite pick, while the HSBC Advance gives a 2.5% cashback with SGD 2,000 spend per month, while the HSBC Visa Platinum gives you a decent 5% cashback on selected categories (Groceries, Dining) with a minimum spend of SGD 600. You can apply for the cards here!

Another thing to take note is to activate your new credit card when you receive it and spend at least $500 by the end of the following calendar month. For example, if you apply on 19 March and get approved on 12 March, you will have until 30 April to meet the minimum spend.

Frequent readers of the Atas Accountant will also know that there’s typically an Online Application Number to track after applying for your cards. That’s not the case this time, all you have to do is just input the name of the product applied for.

Update!

After entering your email, you will be redirected to a landing page on HSBC. I have been told by some readers that some showed the regular offer of S$200 cashback with S$500 spend. Ignore this; as long as you sign up via the links in this post, you will get S$300 cash from SingSaver (do check out the T&Cs here)

Conclusion

A superb offer to tap on if you have yet to pick up one of the best cards to rack up miles. HSBC partners with both Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific, giving you options to play the miles game.

Enjoy your welcome bonus when starting out with your first HSBC Card!
